from July - August 1983.

Det. Ronald Carignan (deceased) of the Leominster PD brought crime
scene evidence, including the rape kit, to the State Police on 7/20/83, a week after the crime. Paul J. Malone signed for
it.
On 8/3, three weeks after the crime and a day after testifing
at LaGuer's indictment, Carignan delivered more items including, "underclothes from suspect." Mark T. Grant signed for
them.
A trace of LaGuer's DNA was in the evidence in 2002. No conclusion
about the significance of this can be reached without asking where that underwear came from and where it went.
