DONATE TO THE LAGUER FOIA FUND

Side by side inventories made five days apart in 1989 show that a pair of underwear in the LaGuer case went missing while the evidence was in the prosecution's custody. These requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) seek to get to the bottom of this and other outrageous indications of prosecutorial misconduct. The Worcester district attorney's office is demanding $731.20 to cover the costs of reviewing the case file and photocopying in order to fulfill these requests.

You can become part of the drive to force District Attorney Conte's hand by contributing to the Ben LaGuer FOIA Fund. Please use the PayPal button to the left to make a secure online donation. Or mail a check payable to the "Eric Goldscheider (Investigative Fund)" at 31 Beston Street, Amherst, MA 01002. Indicate with any donation if it is anonymous or whether you would like to be publicly acknowledged. All contributions go directly into a separate account set up to support this Web site and for investigating matters related to the LaGuer case. A printout of the bank statement is available to contributors on request. Any unused funds will be returned.

If you are a member of a news organization and would like to contribute that would be most welcome. But you may want to file your own FOIA. All documents obtained through this FOIA effort will be made publicly available.
