Howard Manly joined the Boston Herald as a columnist in November
2002. Manly has worked for the Greater Boston program on WGBH-TV, Channel 2, in Boston as an on-air correspondent. Manly also
has worked in the Atlanta bureau of Newsweek as a correspondent, and as a reporter at the Washington Times, Philadelphia Inquirer,
Newsday of New York City, and The Boston Globe. He began his career at The Standard-Times of New Bedford in 1982 as a reporter.
Manly has co-authored "Life Ever Voice," a nonfiction account of the Boys' Choir of Harlem. He is editor of "Reconstruction,"
a quarterly magazine of Harvard University that covers race, social justice and culture.
